This is a creative way to play football from inside Google Earth.
Pick your favorite stadium and "punt". The game works a lot like the football games on early PCs but you are playing on a real field.
The game tracks tons of stats with a leaderboard so you can see how you compare to other users.
Welcome to Google Earth Football, the first football game played inside of Google Earth.
So far, users have played 872 games and run a total of 11,235 plays.
The game itself is similar to the "football" games they used to have on cell phones. Pick a play (inside run, long pass, blitz, etc) and itll give you the result of your play. Putting it in Google Earth allows us to place the ball on the field for you, render lines and goalposts on the field, and give you a real-time scoreboard overlaid on your screen.
I’m pretty sure this is the first app for Google Earth to take custom user feedback directly from within Google Earth without using the COM API or the built-in web browser. The other game we made (GEwar, a while back) relied heavily on the browser. This game runs 100% within Google Earth. If you know of other apps that do this, please let me know.
